Premier League Preview | Club football is back!

| BY News Team

The international break is over. England and Scotland both secured their places at Euro 2024, while Wales are edging closer to joining them.

Now it’s time for the focus to turn back on club football and a big weekend in the Premier League. A Merseyside derby kicks things off as Liverpool host Everton on Saturday lunchtime.

Then, over the weekend, there’s Man City v Brighton, Chelsea v Arsenal and leaders Spurs v Fulham on Monday night.

We’ll have great offers on all of the footy, including Nicole Holliday’s picks, Enhanced Odds and much more. Plus, your Epic Boost will be refreshed on Sunday morning.

To get you ready, let’s look at three of the standout Premier League fixtures…

Liverpool v Everton

Anfield

Saturday, 21st October @ 12:30

Wins against Bournemouth and Brentford have lifted the mood at Everton. However, they face a tough task to make it three wins in four when they travel across Stanley Park to face Liverpool.

The Reds are only three points behind leaders Spurs and have dominated this fixture in recent times. In fact, Liverpool have only lost five of the last 51 Merseyside derbies in the Premier League (W25 D21) and have kept 26 clean sheets against Everton in the competition. Get 6/4 on Liverpool to win this one to nil.

Sean Dyche has two wins in 13 meetings with Jurgen Klopp. One of those came at Anfield with Burnley. It’s 7/1 his side leave with all three points on Saturday.

Discipline could be key to this local rivalry. There have been more red cards in Liverpool v Everton matches than any other Premier League fixture (22). We’ll pay out at 10/3 if there’s a sending off in this one.

Finally, keep your eye on Mohamed Salah. The Egypt international has scored or assisted in each of his last 12 Premier League games at Anfield (12 goals, 3 assists) and has five goals in nine games against Everton. Salah is the star of this week’s Epic Odds. Get EVS (was 1/3) on him scoring or providing an assist.

Chelsea v Arsenal

Stamford Bridge

Saturday, 21st October @ 17:30

There’s another derby on Saturday as Arsenal travel to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in the 17:30 game. The Gunners are unbeaten in their last 15 London derbies (W11 D4).

Only Arsenal and Spurs are unbeaten in the top flight after the opening eight games. Get 13/10 on Mikel Arteta’s side to record their seventh league win of the season. Fancy a clean sheet? Arsenal love them, they’ve already kept four. It’s 29/10 the Gunners win to nil.

Any early pressure on Mauricio Pochettino appears to have lifted after back-to-back wins over Fulham and Burnley before the international break. Get 2/1 on them making it three wins in a row. Pochettino has never lost a home game against Arsenal (W3 D3)

It should be a momentous day for Kai Havertz as he returns to Chelsea following his summer move to north London. Havertz could make his 100th Premier League appearance in this one. Is a Havertz goal inevitable? It’s 4/1 he scores at any time and 13/2 he nets in an Arsenal win.

Aston Villa v West Ham

Villa Park

Sunday, 22nd October @ 16:30

Sunday’s offering is the battle of the claret and blues as Aston Villa host West Ham. Both sides are over-performing this season according to Opta, with Villa four places higher than expected in fifth and West Ham seven better off in seventh.

This one could be a cracker with both sides in good form prior to the break. Villa Park has become a fortress under Unai Emery, with Villa winning each of their last 10 Premier League home games. Get 12/5 on another home win and both teams to score.

David Moyes’ record against Villa could threaten that winning streak, though. The Hammers boss in unbeaten in his last 14 league games against Villa (W8 D6), including a 1-0 win in this fixture last season.

Fresh off his international outing against Australia, Jarrod Bowen is a man to watch. The West Ham forward has netted in all four of the Hammers’ away games this season. He’s 13/5 to score at any time. Keep an eye on Vladimir Coufal, too. He’s provided an assist in each of his last four league games. Get 6/1 on him continuing that run.

From a Villa perspective, it’s all about Moussa Diaby and Ollie Watkins. They’ve created 14 chances for one another in the league this season. Three of Watkins’ last five goals for club and country have come in the second half of games. We’ll pay out at 9/4 if he nets in the second 45 against West Ham.
