Return Of The Legend? Robbie Keane Slashed For Spurs Job
Robbie Keane has emerged as a leading contender with William Hill to replace Thomas Frank at Tottenham Hotspur, with the former Spurs striker now priced at 7/2 to become the club’s next permanent manager, in from 7/1 yesterday.
Former Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi heads the betting at 6/5, while John Heitinga, added to Frank’s coaching staff last month, is 11/4.
USA head coach Mauricio Pochettino is 4/1 for a shock second stint, with Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner (12/1) and Fulham manager Marco Silva (14/1) among the other names in the frame.
Next Permanent Tottenham Hotspur Manager Odds:
- Roberto De Zerbi – 6/5
- John Heitinga – 11/4
- Robbie Keane – 7/2
- Mauricio Pochettino – 4/1
- Oliver Glasner – 12/1
- Marco Silva – 14/1
- Bar – 20/1
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Roberto De Zerbi remains our favourite to replace Thomas Frank at Spurs, but the ex-Brighton boss is slightly on the drift, 6/5 from 4/6 when the market opened yesterday morning.
“The man to watch in the market is Spurs legend Robbie Keane – the Irishman has come in from 7/1 to 7/2 in the last 24 hours – an eye-catching move.
“Keane is now third favourite sitting behind John Heitinga (11/4) with Mauricio Pochettino fourth in the market at 4/1 to make a sensational return to North London
“Premier League managers Oliver Glasner (12/1) and Marco Silva (14/1) lie further back, for an unexpected move across the capital.”
If Keane does indeed take over at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, he will have to stop the rot – with Spurs currently at their lowest price for relegation since 2008.
