Premier League Puma Ball 2025-26

We’re almost at the halfway point of the 2025/26 Premier League season and some real stars have begun to emerge.

From key players in sides setting their sights on the top of the table, to those carrying the load lower down the league with their individual brilliance, there have been a number of standout performers so far this season.

Here, we’ve put together the Premier League Team of the Season so far for the first half of the 2025/26 campaign.

Goalkeeper

David Raya – The Arsenal shot stopper has established himself as one of the league’s leading goalkeepers and has maintained that reputation so far this season. He leads the league in clean sheets and forms part of the most formidable defence in Europe.

Defenders

Jurrien Timber – Another member of Arsenal’s rock-solid defense is right-back Jurrien Timber. He’s back in full flow after last season’s injury troubles, looks comfortable both on the ball and defending 1v1, and is an important cog in the league leaders’ defensive machine.

Marc Guéhi – Crystal Palace have been proven right to hold firm on keeping their captain at the club over the summer. He forms a strong spine of the team, leads the back three and chips in with important goals. Liverpool will no doubt be sniffing around again in January.

Gabriel – The cornerstone of Arsenal’s defensive solidity has been their Brazilian giant at the heart of their defence. Not only is he defensively solid, but he’s the key behind the Gunners’ threat from set pieces having already chipped in with a goal and two assists this season.

Marc Cucurella – Completing the back four at left-back is Chelsea’s Marc Cucurella. Since winning the Euros with Spain his stock has only risen and most now recognise him as the league’s leading left-back, which he has proven again this season with his consistency in an ever-changing Chelsea defence.

Midfielders

Declan Rice – Without a doubt one of the leading midfielders in Europe this season has been Arsenal’s Declan Rice. He’s moved further forward and is providing much more of an attacking threat, while his set-piece taking ability has been key this season. Many Arsenal fans are starting to see him as the most important player in their title challenge.

Moisés Caicedo – Another man justifying his nine-figure price tag is Chelsea’s Ecuadorian engine. He has been the heartbeat of Enzo Maresca’s side, covering so much ground it almost feels like there’s two of him on the pitch. Chelsea went from Claude Makélélé to Michael Essien, to Nemanja Matic, to N’Golo Kanté, and now it looks as though Caicedo is the next to take the baton in their history of elite defensive midfielders.

Bruno Fernandes – Manchester United had a slow start to the season but, driven by their Portuguese maestro, have really started to pick up. With four goals and six assists in the first 15 matches, Bruno has been at the centre of everything positive for United and will be the driving force behind any success this season.

Forwards

Antoine Semenyo – Bournemouth have been one of the standout teams from outside the big six and a lot of that is down to the attacking talents of Antoine Semenyo. The Ghanaian winger notched six goals and three assists in the first seven games to get the Cherries off to a flying start. With AFCON just around the corner, he’s certainly going to be missed on the south coast.

Jérémy Doku – The Belgian trickster didn’t necessarily hit the ground running in Manchester, but he’s really started to come to the fore this season. Wingers were often subject to the Pep roulette, but he looks to have cemented his place on the left of the City attack. His electric performances, in combination with increased goal contributions, have seen him stake his claim as one of the league’s most exciting forwards.

Erling Haaland – The standout performer in the league has to be City’s goal machine, Erling Haaland. He scores goals for fun and has kicked off the 2025/26 season in style, with 15 goals in as many games. His scoring rate speaks for itself, and his link-up play is ever-improving with three assists to his name so far. He’s leading the race to be crowned Player of the Year and if anyone can carry City to regaining the title, it’s him.
