Rico Lewis
Starting with the most established player on the list, Rico Lewis has now made himself an integral part of Manchester City’s matchday squad and is a regular name in the starting XI.
Aged just 19, he broke into the squad last season after showing his proficiency at full-back and defensive midfielder – a very important part of the system in Pep Guardiola’s system. He is now established within the side and looks to have the edge in many games over the experienced Kyle Walker.
Very quick and mobile, Lewis is also great in the tackle and possesses excellent ball-carrying skills, and looks destined to go to the top.
Morgan Rogers
A slightly later bloomer than Lewis, Morgan Rogers is now a regular on the Aston Villa team sheet.
Often operating between the midfield and attack, Rogers is a powerful dribbler who can create chances and has an eye for goal. He has already scored once and assisted twice for Villa this year.
He came through the Manchester City academy before moving to Middlesbrough, where Villa signed him from in January 2024 for £8m – what a bargain that looks now!
Surely an England call-up beckons if he can continue this form; that likely won’t be the last we hear of Morgan Rogers.
Jack Hinshelwood
A glowing example of Brighton’s strategy, Jack Hinshelwood is an academy prospect who was in and out of the squad, but now, aged 19, he looks to have solidified his place in the team.
Equipped to play in several positions, Hinshelwood is a versatile option for the Seagulls, who have already used him across left-back, right-back, and central midfield.
He looks a promising talent beyond his years and appears to be a very valuable asset on the South Coast.
Liam Delap
Operating in the Championship for most of his young career, Liam Delap has made the step up to Premier League football with Ipswich and looks like he’s been playing at the top level for years.
Having already notched four goals this season, he’s a nightmare for any defence due to his movement and lethal finishing.
If Ipswich are to stay up, then it’ll likely be due to his goals, but he looks tailor-made for the elite level.
Jhon Durán
Another Aston Villa forward, Jhon Durán, has already netted four goals in this Premier League campaign without starting a single match.
Villa was able to hold onto the 20-year-old forward in the summer despite several suitors for the Colombian. This looks an inspired decision after his impact off the bench so far this season.
There’s no question he is good enough to start, with his power and devastating ball-striking ability – he looks here to stay.
