Real Madrid look set to continue their 100% record so far in La Liga when they welcome newly promoted Malaga on Sunday afternoon.

Now, let’s take a closer look at some La Liga odds and betting angles for Sunday’s fixture:

Real Madrid v Malaga – Sunday, 4pm

  • Real Madrid return to the Bernabéu on Sunday following their emphatic 4-1 victory here in midweek against Real Sociedad, a victory that makes it two from two in the top-flight thus far, with Los Blancos expected to extend that run here.
  • Real Madrid have invested over the summer, bringing in reinforcements that have fuelled real optimism among the Madridistas. Domestic glory is the minimum expectation, but there is a growing belief that Mourinho can also guide them deep into Europe once again.
  • Los Blancos have now scored three or more goals in five of their last seven league home games, whilst they’ve lost just one of their thirty-six meetings with Malaga (W27), it’s no surprise to see them such heavy odds-on favourites.

  • Malaga’s return to the top-flight hasn’t been the easiest, a 2-0 defeat away at Atletico Madrid was followed up with a 1-1 draw against fellow newbies Deportivo La Coruña, defeat here would make it their fourth consecutive top-flight campaign in which they’ve failed to win any of the first three games.
  • You have to go back to the 2012/2013 campaign for the last time that Malaga beat Real Madrid, with goals from legends such as Isco and Roque Santa Cruz, however Los Albicelestes have never won in this fixture whilst on the road.
  • Strange things happen in football but this would be an almighty shock if Malaga can pull off a victory, punters can back Juan Francisco Funes’ side to defy the betting odds in this one at 18/1 with William Hill.
