Scottish Premiership favourites for 2022-23

After securing their first title under manager Ange Postecoglu last season, finishing four points ahead of what has been a dominant Rangers team in the previous season, Celtic are the favourites to secure back-to-back championships at 8/13. The Hoops have returned to winning ways in the league and will be seeking European success with a young talented squad and an ambitious manager they are more than capable of winning the league and making their presence known in Europe.

On the other side of Glasgow, Rangers experienced both a successful and frustrating season last term as they finished the season just four points behind arch rivals Celtic. And after their incredible Europa League run which ultimately ended in a Final defeat to Frankfurt, the club look to be braced for a transitional period this season with the sales of key players in attacking midfielder Joe Aribo to Southampton and talented young defender Calvin Bassey to Ajax. The Gers are 5/4 to bring the trophy back to Ibrox for the second time in three seasons.

Such is the Glasgow teams’ dominance in Scottish football, next in the betting to finish first are Aberdeen at 66/1. Without Celtic and Rangers, Hearts are frontrunners at 6/4, ahead of city rivals Hibernian at 10/3.

At the bottom end of the table, Ross County lead the betting at 3/1 to face the drop, closely followed by the Saints, with St. Mirren 10/3 and St. Johnstone 4/1 to head down to the Scottish Championship respectively.

Celtic striker Kyogo Furuhashi bagged 20 goals in all competitions last season whilst rotating with last season’s Golden Boot winner Giorgos Giakoumakis and while the Japanese forward is 3/1 to claim the top scorer this season, he could be strongly challenged for minutes by his Greek strike partner who is 5/1 joint second favourite for the Golden Boot. Rangers fiery Striker Alfredo Morelos is joint with the Celtic forward at 5/1 to secure his second Scottish Premiership Golden Boot.
