Celtic BIG Drifters In William Hill Premiership Title Race After Dundee United Defeat
Celtic have surrendered their place at the top of the betting for the William Hill Premiership after their defeat to Dundee United on Sunday.
Martin O’Neill’s side were 6/5 favourites for the title before kick-off at Tannadice but after falling to a 0-2 defeat, they have now drifted markedly out to 5/2.
In contrast, title rivals Hearts and Rangers both secured wins and they are now joint favourites at 11/8, having both shortened from 2/1 prior to the weekend.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “This William Hill Premiership race continues to throw up twists and turns at every opportunity and the latest one has been the slide of Celtic in the football betting.
“Having been title favourites ahead of the weekend, the reigning champions came unstuck against Dundee United and now trail league leaders Hearts by five points, and by a good deal in the betting too.
“Celtic are out to 5/2 from 6/5 and now a way adrift of Hearts and Old Firm rivals Rangers, who both managed wins at the weekend, and are now joint favourites for the title at 11/8.”
The title race has been topsy turvy in recent weeks, with the two Old Firm giants cut after Hearts lost to Kilmarnock, but Celtic’s latest defeat felt like a knockout blow.
It looks set to go right down to the wire and the William Hill Premiership title picture remains unclear. You can follow the latest Scottish football news and developments here throughout the business end of the season.
