Hearts replace Rangers as second favourites for title
Hearts have been backed into second favourites for the Scottish Premiership title with William Hill after their 2-0 victory over Rangers at Ibrox.
Derek McInnes’ side were 9/1 outsiders before kick-off but have now shortened into 15/2, leapfrogging Rangers in the outright betting. Celtic remain dominant at 1/9 following their late win over Kilmarnock, with Russell Martin’s Rangers drifting to 17/2.

Lawrence Shankland, who struck both goals in the Edinburgh side’s win, has also seen his price cut in the top goalscorer market. The Jambos’ captain is now 3/1 favourite, having been 4/1 before Sunday’s clash. Celtic forwards Daizen Maeda (9/2) and Benjamin Nygren (11/2) are his closest challengers, with Aberdeen’s Bojan Miovski next in line at 7/1.
William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said: “Hearts’ win at Ibrox has shaken up the title betting, with Derek McInnes’ men now the nearest challengers to Celtic at 15/2. Rangers have drifted to 17/2 after their loss to the Edinburgh side, while Celtic remain long odds-on at 1/9 after their late victory over Kilmarnock.
“Lawrence Shankland’s double has also seen the Hearts man emerge as clear favourite in the top goalscorer market at 3/1, ahead of Celtic’s Daizen Maeda at 9/2 and Benjamin Nygren at 11/2, as punters appear to be putting their confidence in Shankland and the Jambos.”
