Next Celtic Manager Odds: Kieran McKenna Replaces Ange Postecoglou As Favourite
Kieran McKenna is the current market leader to take over as the next Celtic manager following the departure of Brendan Rodgers earlier this week.
The Ipswich Town boss has been linked with the vacant position at Celtic Park since Rodgers tended his resignation, but he is now very much leading the charger for the role – according to the latest sports betting at least.
At the time of writing, McKenna is priced at 11/8 to take over at the helm while former Celtic manager Ange Postecoglou is available at 3/1 for a romantic reunion with the William Hill Scottish Premiership giants.
Celtic are currently second in the table, six points adrift of early pacesetters Hearts. The new manager will be expected to lead the Bhoys back to the top of the ladder in the coming months.
Next Permanent Celtic Manager Odds:
Punters can bet on the next Celtic manager at William Hill and here is the current state of the market:
- Kieran McKenna – 11/8
- Ange Postecoglou – 5/2
- Robbie Keane – 3/1
- Martin O’Neill – 9/2
- Kevin Muscat – 8/1
- Kjetil Knutsen – 8/1
- Craig Bellamy – 8/1
- John McGlynn – 9/1
- Shaun Maloney – 9/1
- Bar – 10/1
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Our market for the next permanent Celtic manager has swung decisively towards Kieran McKenna, who is now as short as 11/8 to take the full-time role in Glasgow.
Former Hoops coach Ange Postecoglou has eased out to 5/2 from even-money, with Robbie Keane now the closest challenger outside the front two at 3/1, having previously been priced 10/1.
“Celtic’s current interim duo of Martin O’Neill and Shaun Maloney had also seen their odds drift but the former is now into 9/2 – though the suggestion still appears to be that the club will be looking for a fresh pair of hands for the long term.”
