Columbus Crew head coach Wilfried Nancy (13/8) has been backed into favouritism to become Celtic’s next permanent manager, having been as big as 12/1 on Friday before support over the weekend, according to the latest odds from William Hill.

Bodø/Glimt boss Kjetil Knutsen, who led the market at 6/4 last week, has drifted slightly to 2/1, while interim manager Martin O’Neill remains in the running at 5/1.

Ipswich Town’s Kieran McKenna has continued to slide in the betting, moving out to 10/1, as speculation linking him with Parkhead cools.

Lee Phelps, spokesperson for William Hill, said: “We’ve seen another seismic shift in the Celtic manager market over the weekend. Wilfried Nancy was as big as 12/1 on Friday but has been heavily backed into 13/8, making him the new favourite for the role with the defending William Hill Premiership champions.

“Kjetil Knutsen, who was leading the way last week, has eased to 2/1, while Martin O’Neill and Kieran McKenna have both drifted to 5/1 and 10/1 retrospectively, amid growing momentum behind Nancy.”
