Cristian Romero Next Club Odds: Chelsea Enter Race for Spurs Defender

Chelsea have entered the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur defender Cristian Romero, according to William Hill’s latest odds.

The Argentinian centre-half has been rumoured with a move away from North London throughout the summer, although his focus was said to be firmly on his nation’s World Cup run which saw them reach the final.

With international duties behind him, the rumour mill is in full motion and Chelsea are the latest Premier League outfit said to be vying for his signature, having entered the betting at 5/2.

The 28-year-old has reportedly expressed his desire to leave Spurs this summer and a move appears closer to materialising, with Inter the 8/11 favourites to get a deal over the line, with reports suggesting Spurs have reached an agreement with the Italian giants over £34m deal for their former captain.

Nothing is set in stone yet though, and with the heart of Chelsea’s defence still in need of some strengthening, the Blues will be on hand to seize the opportunity to sign one of their rivals’ key players.

Atletico Madrid (3/1) and Barcelona (9/2) are also rumoured to be interested in the Argentine international, should he favour a move to La Liga.
