Gianluigi Donnarumma Next Club Predictions (2025)

Gianluigi Donnarumma’s time at Paris Saint-Germain is over. Luis Enrique opted to start Lucas Chevalier between the sticks in the Super Cup, confirming a new direction for PSG.
Speculation had been rife that the man who starred in Les Parisiens’ Champions League triumph had been made available for a transfer with one year left on his contract. Donnarumma confirmed his time in Paris had come to an end earlier this week.
PSG – among the Champions League betting favourites once again – are expected to sell Italy’s number one before the window shuts at the end of the month. Manchester City are the overwhelming favourites at 1/4.
Luis Enrique prefers a ‘different profile’ in Chevalier. The decision has angered Donnarumma’s agent, Enzo Raiola.
Raiola said, “We are shocked by PSG. There’s zero respect by the club after four years together. We will consider the situation also with our legal team. We will consider solutions now, maybe in Premier League there will be clubs able to pay what’s needed.
“Paris Saint-Germain are asking for big money. They talk about respect, but it’s only about the money.”
According to Fabrizio Romano, there are no talks with Italian clubs and Raiola believes the Premier League is the right step for his client.

City Lead the Way
Donnarumma doesn’t seem like a natural fit for a Pep Guardiola team. His weaknesses are where Ederson has excelled for so many years, as noted by Julien Laurens when discussing PSG’s decision to move on from the Italian.
“They have made a call, a brutal call. Lucas Chevalier is better on the ball, better in the air, better with distribution, but he doesn’t have the experience. All eyes were on him as he replaces probably the best goalkeeper in the world right now.”
With City third in the outright Premier League betting markets, could this be a change of tact from Guardiola? It seems unlikely, given his commitment to goalkeepers who can get involved in build-up play.
There’s a chance this is City driving up the price to avoid Chelsea or Manchester United – both in need of a goalkeeper – landing the Italian on the cheap.
Other Candidates
United have never been that engaged in the Donnarumma sweepstakes, per The Mirror, as the Italian wasn’t keen on a move to Old Trafford.
Chelsea are reportedly happy with Robert Sanchez and Filip Jorgensen as their goalkeepers for 2025/26. Donnarumma would be a major upgrade for either team, though, and they have the cash to meet his wage demands.
Galatasaray and Bayern Munich are also in the mix, according to the latest reporting. Both teams have the cash to pay Donnarumma’s desired salary, and both are in the Champions League this season.
