Gianluigi Donnarumma Set For Manchester City Switch Despite United Interest?

While Manchester United were red hot favourites to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma just a week or so ago, there has been a market shift towards Manchester City in the past few days.
In fact, Pep Guardiola’s side have leapfrogged their local rivals in the market to sign the Italian goalkeeper this summer. The Sky Blues are now 1/4 favourites with William Hill from as big as 5/1 earlier this week.
Meanwhile, the Red Devils – looking for a big money signing to appease supporters – had been favourites to sign Donnarumma but Ruben Amorim’s side are now 11/4 to acquire the Italy number one before the end of the summer window.
Elsewhere, it is 10/1 for the Italian to end up in Saudi Arabia and 20/1 for him to return to his boyhood club AC Milan.
Gianluigi Donnarumma Next Club Odds:
Punters can bet on Gianluigi Donnarumma’s next club following the summer transfer window at William Hill and here is the current state of the market:
- Manchester City – 1/4
- Manchester United – 11/4
- Any Saudi Club – 10/1
- Bayern Munich – 16/1
- Galatasaray – 16/1
- Milan – 20/1
- Bar – 25/1
With a few weeks until the summer transfer window slams shut, each development is crucial as teams look to bolster their squads for the 2025/26 campaign.
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Following news that Gianluigi Donnarumma’s time could be up at PSG, Manchester City have moved quickly and decisively in the race for the Italian shot-stopper.
“City’s odds to secure the PSG man have plummeted to 1/4 from 5/1, with our football betting market reflecting a growing confidence that the Italian will be heading to the Etihad.
“Both Manchester clubs appear poised to reshape their goalkeeping departments, but Manchester United could be pipped to Donnarumma’s signature by their city rivals, having drifted out to 11/4 from even-money to sign the Italian.”
Will Donnarumma replace Ederson at the Etihad Stadium? Only time will tell. For now, it looks like the Italian is bound for the blue side of Manchester though.
