January transfer window on Premier League odds – 2025

| BY News Team

The January transfer window often serves as an opportunity for teams to strengthen their prospects for the season, with some Premier League players looking keen for a change of scene in the new year.

Unsurprisingly, the period leading up to the window’s opening is filled with rumours, as clubs compete to secure some of the world’s top players to improve their squads.

Here, we explore three of the most eagerly anticipated transfers of Premier League players that could take place in January, offering insights into their possible destinations.

Antony

There have been question marks surrounding the Brazilian winger’s contribution to Manchester United since joining the side from Ajax back in August of 2022 for a whopping £82 million plus £4.27 million in add-ons. This was the third-highest transfer fee ever paid by United behind both Romelu Lukaku and Paul Pogba.

To be frank, the Brazilian has far from justified his price tag at United. Having scored 25 goals from 82 appearances for Ajax, the winger hasn’t managed to step up his game to deal with the pace of the Premier League, marking just 12 goals in 91 appearances for the club. United should be looking to offload Antony in January to try and salvage some cash from this rather expensive mistake, with a move back to Ajax priced at 5/1 as his most likely destination should he leave Manchester.

If Ajax don’t want to take him back, any Saudi Pro League team could very well be his next move at 13/2, with a trip to Turkey 10/1 to play in any Super Lig team.

Marcus Rashford

Marcus Rashford is another United player who may appear in a different shirt for the second half of the season. After his 2022/23 season where he scored 30 goals in all competitions, the forward has significantly dropped off in form, scoring just eight the season after, with seven to his name so far this campaign.

Most notably, Rashford has recently been left off the team sheet by new manager Ruben Amorim and that has sparked conversation surrounding his future at his boyhood club. Currently in his 10th season at United as a Premier League player, there appear to be a couple of foreign clubs interested in reviving the forward’s form from a few years ago.

French giants, Paris Saint-Germain, are our current frontrunners to swoop in for Rashford, with odds of 7/2 to pick him up in the January window. Everyone knows that Rashford is capable of being a very impressive player and a key asset to a team, it just seems as though now seems a natural time to part ways with United as he seems to have lost his confidence, and a move abroad could revitalise that form.

A trip to any Saudi Pro League is also on the cards at 6/1, with a controversial move to London to Arsenal priced at 7/1.

Kevin De Bruyne

The Belgian midfielder has consolidated himself as one of the all-time best players the Premier League has ever seen, but it could well be time for a change of scene having been a Manchester City player since the 2015/16 season. Aged 33, there are whispers that the midfielder could be swayed away from Manchester to join any MLS team in the US at odds of 5/6.

We’ve seen plenty of Premier League midfielders take this route such as David Beckham, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard. City have also experienced a serious dip in form recently relative to their performances across the past five years, and this could sweeten the move for De Bruyne should he feel it’s time to cut ties with his time in England.

The only other option in our market is a 6/1-chance to head to any team in the Saudi Pro League and follow former teammate Riyad Mahrez.
