Jean-Philippe Mateta has informed Crystal Palace that he is looking to leave Selhurst Park and William Hill have priced up Aston Villa as early favourites to sign the French striker before the January transfer window slams shut.

He has been a revelation for Palace since joining the Eagles in the 2020/21 season, notching 46 goals and eight assists in over 150 top flight appearances for the club. However, he has decided that he wants a fresh challenge away from Selhurst Park.
