Where will Victor Osimhen go next?

The start of the 2024/25 league season is fast approaching and clubs all over are looking to strengthen and improve their squads ahead of their respective domestic campaigns.

Many teams are on the lookout for new striking options, and we may see a transfer domino effect occur should certain players up and leave their current clubs.

One notable player that has been on the radar for a while now is Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen. Currently up top for Serie A side Napoli, Osimhen has become one of the most high-profile number nines in world football due his goalscoring exploits with 44 goals across all competitions in the last two seasons. Striking up a deadly partnership with Georgian winger Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Osimhen’s form has drummed up interest from Europe’s best. Our list looks at the most likely destinations for him this summer.

Bet on Victor Osimhen’s next move with William Hill

Paris Saint-Germain – 6/4

Paris Saint-Germain are favourites to secure Osimhen’s signature this summer. The French champions are in the market to replace Kylian Mbappe, and it would be no surprise to see them make a move for the Nigerian. His goalscoring record speaks for itself, as one of the most prolific forwards around Europe currently, this would help to replace some of the output that PSG will lose with Mbappe’s departure.

There’s a release clause rumoured to be in Osimhen’s contract around an estimated amount of £110 million which isn’t likely to put a club like PSG off with the financial power they have. The move makes sense for both PSG and Napoli, the latter being heavily linked to sweep up Romelu Lukaku if Osimhen were to leave, as well as for Osimhen himself who deserves to make the step up to one of Europe’s elite clubs.

Chelsea – 7/2

Following in the market are Chelsea, where the transfer merry-go-round becomes apparent. The London club are the current owners of Romelu Lukaku, who’s heavily linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge to Napoli who currently own Osimhen. If Lukaku leaves, as is expected, Chelsea will be in the market for a new centre forward with Osimhen likely to be near the top of the list.

The Blues have already been active in the window, making five signings already and it would be no surprise if they were to try and get their business done with Osimhen quickly.

Arsenal – 8/1

Arsenal is next in at 8/1 and you can’t rule out the possibility of the Gunners making a speculative move for Osimhen. The North London side have been linked to several strikers this summer, including Osimhen, after it became apparent last season they were lacking a goalscorer to lead the line and the Napoli man would provide just that.

The sticking point may well be the financial side of the deal, with the release clause north of £100 million. This likely prices Arsenal out of the deal currently, but if they were to make a big sale or two, suddenly it becomes viable and what an option he’d be up front at the Emirates for Arteta and his men.
