The transfer window rumour mill continues to throw up plenty of potential moves that might happen over the next couple of months.
Here is our latest look at the deals which could well go through in the coming weeks.
Lionel Messi shocked the world when Barcelona confirmed their captain and talisman wanted to leave the club. Messi has spent his whole footballing career with the Spanish giants and many believed that he would stay for his entire career. With Messi clearly keen for a new challenge, speculation is rife on where the Argentine would be applying his trade next.
Of course, Manchester City have been the club that has been linked with Messi the most. They are currently 8/13 to gain his signature and what a signing that would be. With the likes of Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero up front already, Pep Guardiola is blessed with an embarrassment of attacking riches, but if Messi did head to the Etihad it really would show they mean business this season.
Another possible destination for the Argentine is Inter Milan (9/1). Antonio Conte has made the side his own this season and the Europa League runners up could further bolster their attack.
Could we see Messi link up with Neymar once more? Champions League runners-up Paris St Germain are an interesting destination at 8/1. The French giants certainly have the money, proven so when breaking the transfer record for Neymar, and after getting desperately close to their first-ever Champions League honours, they’ll want to do whatever they can to go one step further next season.
It’s not quite worked out for Aaron Ramsey at Juventus. He’s had bright spells here and there but nothing quite compared to the dizzy heights he achieved in his final few seasons at Arsenal. Could be on the move again?
Gunners fans will welcome the Welshman back to the Emirates with open arms and he’s currently 15/2 to return to north London. Ramsey had a spectacular time at Arsenal which saw him win three FA Cups with the club, and also play alongside current manager Mikel Arteta. Without a doubt, Ramsey would fit into the current side, but whether he fits into Arteta’s vision moving forward is another question entirely.
Another possible destination, much to Arsenal fans distaste, could be to Manchester United (8/1). United have lacked depth in their midfield for the past few seasons, especially with Paul Pogba’s continuous injury woes. Ramsey, approaching 29 years of age, could prove to be a great utility signing and even do a great job in the starting 11.
Liverpool have remained relatively quiet this transfer window, and given their runaway Premier League title win last season, who could blame them? Jurgen Klopp has stated he’s in the market for the right player and the name that keeps cropping up is Bayern Munich’s Thiago Alcantara. The Spaniard is fresh from a Champions League triumph and would be a good fit at the Reds. He’s currently just 1/3 to move to Anfield.
The Reds appear to be the only contenders in the race for Thiago with Arsenal next best at 4/1.
