Europa League Preview: All three English sides to qualify?

| BY News Team

West Ham, Brighton and Liverpool are all in with strong prospects of qualifying for the Europa League knockout stages and three points in match week five would secure their progression.

We assess their chances of winning on Thursday evening.

Potential last hit for the hammers before knockouts

West Ham will be confirmed in the top two of their group if they beat TSC Bačka Topola, or if Olympiacos do not beat Freiburg, tomorrow night.

West Ham will look to continue their good fortunes after their dramatic late win over Burnley on Saturday. Their star man, Jarrod Bowen, is still out and did not travel with the team, which will most likely give Mohammed Kudus another opportunity to show off his skills, with the Ghanaian already having scored a header in this reverse fixture which ended 3-1 to the Hammers.

Kudus’ header was assisted by another one of James Ward-Prowse’s perfect set pieces, we wouldn’t be surprised to see this duo combine again tomorrow night. Kudus is 9/2 to score first in the game tomorrow night, whilst James Ward-Prowse is 2/1 to assist a goal.

Can the Seagulls Fly into the final 16?

Brighton will be confirmed in the top two if they beat AEK Athens in Greece tomorrow.

AEK Athens were victorious in the reverse fixture, however, nerves were high for Brighton’s first game in Europe. Since then, the Seagulls haven’t lost in Europe, whilst AEK Athens haven’t won.

Brighton do find themselves in eighth in the Premier League although their defensive record hasn’t been the greatest. Both teams have scored in 100% of games involving Brighton, in the Premier League (13/13). The match result to be Brighton and both teams to score is priced at 12/5.

Evan Ferguson has continued to impress with his cool finishing in front of goal this season, scoring in Brighton’s recent five-goal thriller against Nottingham Forest. Evan Ferguson to have over 2 Shots on Target in tomorrow’s game is an enhanced price of 5/1.

Liverpool almost over the line

Liverpool will be confirmed in the top two if they avoid defeat by LASK, or if Union SG do not beat Toulouse. Liverpool will also be confirmed in the round of 16 as group winners if they win and Toulouse do not.

The Red’s should have their confidence back, since their loss to Toulouse in Europe, after their score draw with Man City last weekend, and convincing win over potential banana skin, Brentford.

Jurgen Klopp’s team haven’t been short of goals this season, and Liverpool should play with an element of freedom, due to the lack of pressure on this fixture, so goals are expected. This game could give Cody Gakpo the opportunity to increase his goal tally this season. Gakpo to score & Liverpool to win 2-0, 2-1 or 3-1 is the enhanced price of 13/2.

Third choice keeper Caoimhin Kelleher is set to play in place of injured goalie Alisson Becker of Liverpool, who is expected to miss out due to a suspected hamstring injury sustained last time out. Adrian is not included in the Reds’ roster for the Europa League group stage. It’s anticipated that a rookie goalie, such as Vitezslav Jaros, Fabian Mrozek, or Marcelo Pitaluga, will be on the bench to cover for Kelleher.
