Take a read below for our top picks from William Hill’s latest football odds:
Belgium vs Wales, Monday 7:45pm
- Wins over Liechtenstein and Kazakhstan, and a draw with North Macedonia, leave Wales top of their group ahead of Monday night’s clash with Belgium.
- The Red Devils drew away to North Macedonia in their first match of the campaign. Rudi Garcia is aiming to guide Belgium to World Cup qualification – they have qualified for the last three World Cups.
- It’s a new era for the Belgium side with Michy Batshuayi, Thibaut Courtois, Yannick Carrasco, Axel Witsel, and Jan Vertonghen absent from the squad for a combination of injury, decline, and retirement.
- Wales haven’t lost a competitive match since a defeat to Turkey in June 2023. Craig Bellamy has made the Dragons hard to beat.
- This should be a routine win for a highly talented Belgium team. They slipped up against North Macedonia, but home advantage will make a massive difference here.
Belgium v Wales Prediction: Belgium -1.5 (5/4). Belgium 2-0 Wales.
Croatia vs Czech Republic, Monday 7:45pm
- Czech Republic have won their first three matches in Group L. They are top of the group with nine points on the board.
- Croatia beat Gibraltar 7-0 last time out. It was Croatia’s first match in the campaign after losing to France in the Nations League quarter-final.
- Borna Sosa and Mateo Kovacic are unavailable for the home team through injury. They are looking to bring through the next generation of stars, while Luka Modric continues to perform at a high level.
- Czech Republic are unbeaten in eight matches across all competitions. They haven’t qualified for a World Cup since 2006.
- Tomas Soucek and Patrik Schick are the only players in the Czech squad with more than goals at international level.
- Croatia’s superior quality should see them take three points at home.
Croatia v Czech Republic Prediction: Croatia to win the match (19/20). Croatia 2-0 Czech Republic.
Italy vs Moldova, Monday 7:45pm
- Italy lost 3-0 to Norway on Friday. The Azzurri were 3-0 down at half-time and only managed six shots despite having 63% possession.
- Italy manager Luciano Spalletti announced he had been sacked following the defeat. Spalletti is still going to take charge of the team for this match but will then be relieved of his duties.
- Moldova have lost to Norway and Estonia already in this qualifying campaign. The Tricolours suffered a 2-0 defeat to Poland in a friendly over the weekend.
- Moldova have never qualified for a World Cup. They are ranked 154th in the world and are massive underdogs for this match in Reggio Emilia.
- Disappointing at last summer’s Euros, Italy are now winless in their last four matches. This is a largely inexperienced squad – only three players have more than 39 caps and the majority have under 20 international appearances.
- Look for a fiery Italy performance after the shambles in Norway. Cards and goals are expected.
Italy v Moldova Prediction: Italy to win, over four cards, over 10 corners. (Your Odds – 11/2). Italy 3-0 Moldova.
