Jack Grealish has been backed to return to the England setup in time for the 2026 World Cup, with William Hill making him 5/6 to be included in Thomas Tuchel’s squad for the tournament.

The on-loan Everton winger has impressed since making the switch from Manchester City earlier this summer, and his resurgence at Goodison Park has seen his chances of making the World Cup cut improve to an implied 55%. That comes despite Grealish being left out of the latest squad for England’s October internationals against Wales and Latvia.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham remains a near-certainty to return, despite his omission this month. William Hill rate him at 1/20 (95%) to be named in next year’s final squad.

Newcastle’s in-form duo Anthony Gordon and Dan Burn are both odds-on to make the plane at 1/2 and 4/7 respectively, while West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen is seen as an outside chance at 13/8.

William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said: “The most recent England squad has caused some controversy as Real Madrid star Jude Bellingham was left out, but we give him a 95% chance of returning for the World Cup as he’s 1/20 to make the squad in 2026.

“Jack Grealish’s fine start to his loan spell at Everton has seen us cut his odds for making the 2026 World Cup squad to 5/6, a 55% implied chance.

“Elsewhere in the betting, both Anthony Gordon and Dan Burn are fancied to make the squad with the Newcastle pair odds-on.

“The winger debate is ongoing and Noni Madueke is currently leading the battle with Jarrod Bowen; the Arsenal man is 4/7, while West Ham’s captain is 13/8.”

Grealish’s revival at Everton has been one of the stories of the season so far. After a frustrating spell at Manchester City where his minutes were limited, the loan move to Merseyside appears to have reignited his confidence and he’s showing glimpses that he could be back to his best.

Thomas Tuchel’s arrival as England manager has also opened the door for a clean slate, and Grealish’s form could make him difficult to ignore if he maintains his current level heading into 2026.

Jude Bellingham’s temporary absence has also sparked debate. The midfielder has been managing a minor fitness issue, but his importance to the national setup is reflected in his 1/20 odds, suggesting it would take something extraordinary to keep him out of England’s World Cup plans.

The battle for wide attacking spots remains particularly competitive. Anthony Gordon’s rise at Newcastle and Noni Madueke’s development at Arsenal have given Tuchel several strong options, while Jarrod Bowen continues to make his case with consistent Premier League performances.

With the World Cup still over half a year away, the picture could still change dramatically as injuries, form, and tactical preferences come into play. For now though, the betting market suggests Grealish is firmly back in contention and fans at the Hill Dickinson may yet see their rejuvenated loanee feature on the world’s biggest stage next summer.
