World Cup Draw 2026: Scotland The Biggest Liability Ahead Of Next Summer
Scotland are William Hill’s biggest pre‑draw liability for the 2026 World Cup outright market, with the Tartan Army backing their side in numbers ahead of this evening’s group-stage draw in Washington.
In terms of single-bet liabilities, Scotland sit top of the list, ahead of New Zealand and Sweden, with England and Spain completing the top five.
When it comes to total stakes on singles, however, England lead the way, followed by Spain, Brazil, Germany and France.
In terms of outright winner market for the tournament, the European champions are the favourites at 4/1, followed by England (6/1) and France (7/1). Brazil and World Cup holders Argentina round out the top five, priced at 15/2 and 8/1 respectively.
World Cup 2026 Outright Winner Odds:
Punters can bet on the 2026 World Cup tournament winner at William Hill and here is the current state of the market:
- Spain – 4/1
- England – 6/1
- France – 7/1
- Brazil – 15/2
- Argentina – 8/1
- Bar – 11/1
Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Scotland being our biggest outright liability shows just how optimistic their fans are feeling going into the World Cup draw, with New Zealand and Sweden also proving popular with those looking for a high-priced nation.
“In the outright betting itself, Spain currently lead the market at 4/1, with England next in at 6/1 and France close behind at 7/1. However, it’s the Three Lions that lead their shorter-priced Spanish rivals in terms of highest percentage of total stakes placed.
“Brazil sit at 15/2 and Argentina at 8/1, so while Europe dominates the very top of the betting market at the moment, there’s still strong interest in the traditional South American powerhouses as the draw kicks off this evening.”
The eyes of the world will be on Friday’s draw and football fans from all four corners of the globe will be hoping for a favourable route to the 2026 World Cup final. Keep an eye on the latest developments and news at William Hill.
