Zinedine Zidane announced he is standing down as Real Madrid manager at an impromptu press conference today.
The 45-year-old told the assembled press that he feels the time is right for a different approach at the club, saying: “What I think is that this team needs to continue winning but I think it needs a change, a different voice, another methodology and that’s why I took this decision.”
Recently departed Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is 5/1 in the next Real Madrid manager odds and joins a host of other Premier League managers in the upper reaches of the betting to step into the vacancy at Santiago Bernabeu.
France next for Zidane?
Zidane told reporters he wasn’t looking for another job, but it’s 3/1 that his next managerial position will be with the French national team, while any Premier League club is next in the betting at 6/1.
