Wyndham Championship 2026: Preview & Predictions
This week brings the final regular PGA Tour event of the 2026 campaign and William Hill News are on hand with predictions for the Wyndham Championship.
Before attentions turn to the FedExCup, a strong field heads to Sedgefield Country Club in North Carolina in pursuit of their share of the lucrative $8,500,000 purse, not to mention some valuable FedExCup points.
The course is a par 70 stretching just over 7,100 yards, including four par threes, 12 par fours and two par fives. Accuracy will be favoured over distance here with some tight, tree-lined fairways, lots of which are dog-legged.
It is also a serious test of a player’s chipping and putting skills, so short-game prowess will be at a premium here.
Ryan Gerard 25/1
The first pick of the week is North Carolina native Ryan Gerard. Gerard has enjoyed a real breakout season this year, in what is just his second year on the PGA Tour. He gained his first win at the Barracuda Championship last year, but 2026 has been a season of greater consistency for the American.
He has six T10 or better finishes in 22 starts this year, missing just three cuts, and it’s within those high finishes where the interest lies. This test looks tailormade for Gerard, not to mention it being at one of his local courses.
Courses that play similarly to Sedgefield Country Club share traits like sub-7,200-yard par-70 layouts, tight tree-lined fairways, heavily undulated greens, and a premium on accuracy over distance. Key comparable courses include Waialae Country Club (Sony Open), Colonial Country Club (Charles Schwab Challenge), Harbour Town Golf Links (RBC Heritage), and Detroit Golf Club (Rocket Mortgage Classic).
Gerard has excelled in these conditions, finishing second in the Sony Open, T10 at the Charles Schwab, T33 at the RBC Heritage and T8 at the Rocket Mortgage classic on his most recent start.
Things don’t take a downturn when you look at his other stats either. On the PGA Tour this year, Gerard ranks 37th for driver accuracy, 24th for strokes gained approaching the green, and eighth for putting average. He is at the top table when it comes to the key stats needed at this course. Given his price of 25/1, he looks a strong each-way bet with six places on offer.
Keegan Bradley 45/1
Our second selection is a swing at an each-way place, with Keegan Bradley an attractive prospect at 45/1. The former USA Ryder Cup team captain has been playing some nice golf as of late and put himself in position to sneak into the FedExCup Playoffs.
Bradley currently sits 72nd in the rankings but has been making a charge in the last few weeks with his last four non-Major finishes reading T15, T26, T14 and T19. He hasn’t been blowing the field apart, but he’s ticking along nicely.
He’s a consistent player whose T12 finish at the RBC Heritage and T15 at last week’s Rocket Mortgage Classic offer hope for better at this similar track. At 45/1, he looks well worth a go to finish in the top six.
