Ascot Horse Racing Tips: King George VI & Queen Elizabeth Stakes Predictions (2025)

Europe’s finest middle-distance horses gather to showcase their talents and compete in the prestigious Group 1 King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes, at Ascot on Saturday afternoon.
The premier raceday starts at 1.10pm GMT and ends at 5.15pm GMT, after the conclusion of eight splendid races.
1.10pm – 6f “Confined” Maiden Stakes (Not Run More Than Once) (Colts & Geldings)
HARBOR LOCK should hopefully hit the ground running for Charlie Appleby this weekend.
The Godolphin-owned two-year-old is a son of Palace Pier, who was rather quick over this trip, and if he can follow in his hoofprints, then he will be one of the main protagonists in this contest.
1.40pm – 6f Princess Margaret Stakes (Group 3)
The grey filly STAYA looks like a horse that will go to the top, and holds a solid chance in this Group 3 affair.
She’s every inch the offspring of the mighty Havana Grey, and should not be inconvenienced by this step up to six furlongs. James Doyle in the saddle is yet another positive for the Queen Mary fifth.
2.20pm – 1m Valiant Stakes (Group 3)
After a string of second places, the Gosden-trained CAJOLE (NAP) can get her head back in front at Ascot.
The daughter of Dubawi ran an absolute stormer in the Sandringham Stakes at Royal Ascot, leading home a group of 21 runners, only to be denied by Never Let Go in the group of four. She subsequently finished a close second again at Sandown in the Distaff, but today can finally be her lucky break.
3.00pm – 7f International Handicap (Heritage Handicap)
If you’re considering one horse at a big each-way price on Saturday afternoon, why not take a second look at the chances of NOBLE TRUTH in this 22 runner handicap.
Winner of the 2022 Jersey Stakes at Royal Ascot, his form figures since have gone totally awol, but there was actually a glimmer of hope in the Wokingham.
Jockey Neil Callan recently scored on a 66/1 online betting outsider in the July Cup, so you will also have that man on your side.
3.35pm – 1m Handicap
Jockey Warren Fentiman has been a revelation this season, and he can get the maximum response out of this mount MYTHICAL GUEST in this handicap.
George Margarson’s five-year-old gets into the race off a lovely low weight, which Fentiman will take a further 5lb off.
4.10pm – 1m4f King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes (Group 1)
France’s Goliath, ran out an impressive winner of this race last season for trainer Francis-Henri Graffard, and he can scoop the prize again courtesy of CALANDAGAN.
The would be “if the rules were different” Arc contender, is racing at the top of his game, and he showed us just that when landing the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud last time out.
He can put the “actual” Arc contenders – Jan Brueghel and Kalpana to the sword today.
4.45pm – 1m4f Handicap
It would be criminal to leave CRIMINAL out of your calculations in this Class 4 (0-80) affair given his recent form.
The three-year old looks every part an handicap “snip” with Hughes placing him very well on his handicap debut, and he will be a decent price in our horse racing betting too.
5.15pm – 5f Handicap
VINTAGE CLARETS continues to run well this season but without actually winning, but the omens are good for yet another big effort.
A neck second to Paddy’s’ Day at Newcastle, the nine-time scorer can notch up win number ten on his southern travels.
