William Hill’s latest odds show Aidan O’Brien remains a dominant 1/12 favourite to win the 2026 UK Flat Trainers’ Championship, despite failing to land any of the four Group One contests at York’s Ebor Festival last week.

Andrew Balding has closed the gap following a hugely successful week at York, with Group One victories in the Juddmonte International with Item and the Yorkshire Oaks with Kalpana seeing his odds cut to 8/1.

There is still £700,000 between the two trainers, however, with O’Brien retaining a commanding lead as the season enters its final stages.

William Hill spokesperson, Lee Phelps, said: “Despite not landing any of the four Group One contests at York’s Ebor Festival last week, Aidan O’Brien remains a strong favourite at 1/12 to win the UK Trainers’ Championship.

“Andrew Balding enjoyed a hugely successful time at York, securing Group 1 wins in the Juddmonte International with Item and the Yorkshire Oaks with Kalpana and has made ground on O’Brien in the market, seeing his odds cut to 8/1.

“However, there’s still a gap of £700k between the two, and with the lead looking almost unassailable as we enter the back end of the season, Aidan looks to hold all the cards.”
