Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle Betting Preview – Cheltenham Day 4 Tips (2025)

Cheltenham Festival Predictions

The Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle is the final race on Day 4 of the 2025 Cheltenham Festival and 24 runners have been declared for one of the biggest horse racing betting heats of the season.

We’ve known the early entries for the Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle for some time now but decisions have been made and all eyes will be on Prestbury Park on Friday afternoon.

Here, we look at some of the leading players in the Cheltenham odds for this year’s race, with a Martin Pipe Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle selection ahead of the 2025 renewal.

Wodhooh has done nothing wrong over hurdles and she has an excellent opportunity to give trainer Gordon Elliott a fourth success in the race. She is six from six over hurdles and word is that Danny Gilligan takes the ride – just as he did on her previous success.

The form of that victory at Cheltenham is working out well, with Joyeuse, Take No Chances and Royale Margaux all franking the form. She runs here off a BHA mark of 141 and I think she’s still got a bit in hand off that rating…

Another Elliott runner that warrants respect is The Enabler and he has felt like a bit of a plot job for this race all season long. He’s a proper chaser in the making but those types often fare well in the Martin Pipe and he can make his mark on the race.

His form has taken a few knocks over the past few weeks but we could see him receive a boost if Jasmin De Vaux goes well in the Albert Bartlett earlier on the card. James Smith is booked to ride and he certainly has place claims.

Taponthego‘s form behind William Munny received a boost on Tuesday as the Barry Connell-trained gelding finished second in the Supreme Novices Hurdle. He was given a fair hike by the British handicapper and he runs here off a BHA mark of 135.

His form ties in with the likes of McLaurey and James’s Gate and we may see those two boost the form throughout the course of the week. Waterford Whispers finished second in last year’s race for the yard and connections will be hoping to go one better this year.

However, the most interesting runner in the race is KOPECK DE MEE. He has been a real talking horse in the build up to this year’s Festival and many believe that he has a huge amount in hand off his BHA mark of 136.

The handicappers hands were tied when assessing his French form but a line through the likes of Kitzbuhel and Karam Le Rouge would – as Ruby Walsh himself said – put him “on a literal reading of 162” in Ireland. He reportedly goes well at home and he could make a mockery of his current mark.

SELECTION: KOPECK DE MEE (WIN)
