Cheltenham Tips Saturday: November Meeting Day 2 Predictions (2025)

Cheltenham Tips 2025

One of the most anticipated race days outside of the Cheltenham Festival, Super Saturday features key trials out on the racecourse in the shape of the Triumph Hurdle Trial (Grade 2) and the Arkle Challenge Trophy Trial Novices’ Steeple Chase (Grade 2).

The main focal point of the afternoon is of course the Paddy Power Gold Cup Steeplechase (In Memory of Edward O’Grady), a race many racecourse visitors still affectionately call the “Mackeson Gold Cup”.

12.35pm – 2m½f Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 2)

On paper PARCHEMENT looks to hold an outstanding chance in this Triumph Trial.

The three-year-old was a summer purchase from France, fairly soon after the son of Triple Threat won a nice hurdle on his debut at Clairefontaine.

He proved he could handle testing ground that day, and he should find the going to his liking on Saturday.

1.10pm – 3m1f Amateur Jockeys’ Handicap Chase (Class 3) (4yo+ 0-135)

I was extremely pleased how KELCE performed here 22 days ago in a similar race for amateurs, and a reproduction of that run will see the up and coming seven-year-old go close.

A P Ryan is in the plate again, and the pair looked destined for a podium finish at the very least.

1.45pm – 2m Arkle Challenge Trophy Trial Novices’ Chase (Grade 2)

BURDETT ROAD (NAP) is turning into somewhat of an all-rounder, and he is well worth a flutter on his first run over fences in public.

The former Royal Ascot scorer, was victorious at this meeting last year, landing the Greatwood Hurdle and his talents should extend to this new discipline too.

2.20pm – 2m4f Paddy Power Gold Cup Handicap Chase (Class 1) (4yo+)

A quick meteorological search for the weather on Friday/Saturday led me right towards the Venetia Williams-trained HUNTER LEGEND in this Premier Handicap.

Last seen humping around 12st 2lbs at Bangor back in April, the eight-year-old justified favouritism at the Welsh track, stoically getting the job done over the 2m4½f trip in soft conditions.

That race will be a decent grounding for Saturday’s task in hand, and Charlie Deutsch is just the jockey for the job. Make sure you check out their odds in our sports betting.

2.55pm – 3m Handicap Hurdle (Class 2) (4yo+)

GOWEL ROAD has generally gone well for the Twiston-Davies’ at Cheltenham, and is a solid each-way pick in this staying hurdle.

The 146-rated hurdler is on a mark far superior to his rivals here, and he should make his class and experience count as he hunts down career victory number six.

3.30pm – 2m5f Intermediate Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) (3yo+ 0-140)

On his first run for Olly MurphyKAP BOY romped home by a massive seven lengths to take a 2m4f handicap hurdle at Perth 25 days ago.

The Kapgarde-gelding can acquit himself well again as he steps up one level from last time.

4.00pm – 2m½f  Mares’ Open National Hunt Flat Race (Listed Race) (4-5yo)

I like Passing Glance as a sire, and his daughter Kitty’s Glance is a generous price in our horse racing betting for the concluding bumper.

Sent off the market favourite at Huntingdon back in March, she was a little green that day but should be more streetwise today.

Alan King has trained some nice types for Pitchall Stud down the years, and the filly can run a big each-way race.
