Cheltenham Racing Tips Saturday – December Meeting Day 2 Predictions (2025)

Cheltenham Racing Tips Today

This Saturday at Prestbury Park sees some highly competitive Cheltenham Festival trials, including the JCB Triumph Hurdle trial and the Albert Bartlett Novices Hurdle trial, making it a key race meeting for Cheltenham Festival clues.

12.10pm – 2m1f JCB Triumph Trial Juvenile Hurdle

Harry Derham’s ONE HORSE TOWN is already a four-time hurdle winner, and he just keeps getting better race by race.

The son of Threat faced his stiffest test to date at Cheltenham last time but rose to the occasion, winning a Triumph Trial in the process. Today he is back to contest yet another trial and will be hard to beat.

12.40pm – 3m1½f Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase

THE JUKEBOX KID jumped with aplomb in the Gordon Richards Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase at Carlisle at the start of November and another effort like that would go a long way toward lifting this prize too.

Ben Pauling’s stable is firing on all cylinders at present and this 132-rated chaser looks a strong bet.

1.15pm – 2m4½f Mares’ Handicap Chase

Nobody could even live with Pic Roc at Huntingdon last month, but Fergal O’Brien’s brave mare GREYVAL gave it a good go and she will be racing at her own level here today.

Already a prolific winning mare and only six-years-old, the grey has won 6 of her 27 careers starts and always performs well against her own sex.  At odds of around 10/1 she cannot be ignored for each-way purposes.

1.50pm – 2m4½f December Gold Cup Handicap Chase

The Venetia Williams-trained MARTATOR (NAP) was running on all too late behind Calico at Ascot last time out and this return to two and a half miles should have the desired effect on maximising his chances.

The eight-year-old was thought good enough to compete in the Grand Annual last March but could only finish half way down the field. This race will be much more his grade and in can go well for punters at a price.

2.25pm – 2m½f Handicap Chase

Top-weighted and top-rated JPR ONE will be well within his comfort zone in this Class 2 Chase and can shine against slightly inferior opposition than he has become accustomed to racing against in recent times.

It’s really hard to pick any holes in his form so far this season, with both third place finishes being in good races. The stable appear to have found a nice opportunity for him to register another victory.

3.00pm – 3m  Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 2)

CONMAN JOHN scored here at the November meeting for the Russell/Scudamore stable and their up and coming star can follow up in this Grade 2.

If you can get anything over even money in our sports betting, you’ll have done well.

3.35pm – 2m4½f Mares’ Handicap Hurdle

GAME COLOURS looked in need of the run at Fontwell the other week after undergoing wind surgery, and can bounce right back in this mares’ handicap hurdle.

The Shantou-mare has all the right breeding  to eventually come good at this level of competition. Sean Bowen takes the ride which is a really positive sign too.
