Chepstow Horse Racing Tips – Welsh Racing Festival Day 2 Predictions (2025)

The wait is finally over, jump racing is back at Chepstow! Get ready for an unmissable start to the 2025 National Hunt season with The Welsh Racing Festival – Day Two.

Here, I take a look through every race on Saturday 11th October, with a well-fancied NAP of the Day running in the Silver Trophy, the feature race on the card.

1.35pm – 2m Juvenile Hurdle (GBB Race) (Class 4) (3yo)

Rebecca Curtis generally does well at this early October fixture, which leads me to select BOUQUET DE PARIS in the opener.

Bred by the late Queen Elizabeth II, the gelding has changed official ownership in the last week and the three-year-old is now set to embark on a career over flights/fences.

2.10pm – 2m Novices’ Limited Handicap Chase (GBB Race) (Class 3) (4yo+)

THE KEMBLE BREWERY kicked off last season in fine form, and Kim Bailey and Mat Nicholls would dearly love him to progress into another Chianti Classico.

The Blue Bresil-gelding certainly has all the makings of being a decent chaser, and on his seasonal debut today, he will be an interesting watch – keep an eye on the betting before the off.

2.45pm – 2m7½f Native River Handicap Chase (GBB Race) (Class 2) (4yo+)

Course and distance scorer THE BOOLA BOSS can give trainer Rebecca Curtis another big Saturday winner, shining a welcome spotlight back on her yard.

Success here came back in April when the nine-year-old made short work of a field of five runners. This is a step up in class but he’s favourably treated in the weights, and he can outrun his current mark of 120.

3.20pm – 2m3½f Silver Trophy Handicap Hurdle (GBB Race) (Class 2) (4yo+)

Dan Skelton has entries galore in this Silver Trophy, but I am going to oppose them all with the race-fit IDY WOOD (NAP).

Jamie Snowden’s charge had a confidence booster over hurdles at Uttoxeter last month, and appears to thrive at this 2m4f distance. He should be right in the mix under Gavin Sheehan and he is my strongest fancy of the day.

4.00pm – 2m A Limited Handicap) (GBB Race) (Class 2) (4yo)

French purchase GUSTAPOF can show his Welsh audience, just what he’s capable of on Saturday afternoon.

Experienced over both hurdles and fences already, replays will show you that four-year-old certainly knows how to pop over an obstacle and has plenty of stamina to boot. Rebecca Curtis appears to have bought a nice type for sure.

4.35pm – 2m Handicap Chase (GBB Race) (Class 4) (4yo+ 0-115)

115-rated AMERICAN LAND can show his counterparts a clean pair of hooves in this two mile chase.

The seven-year-old is already a five-time winner, and more often than not runs a solid race at this level. He should go off a nice price in the betting too.

5.10pm – 2m7½f Handicap Hurdle (Class 4) (4yo+ 0-120)

I’ve watched SHARED race a couple of times at Wetherby, and he always gives it his all for the Harry Derham stable.

I’m also pretty sure Derham will have him spot on for this race first time out, and it will come as no surprise to see him on the podium at the very least.
