Chepstow Horse Racing Tips – Welsh Racing Festival Day 3 Predictions (2025)

Chepstow Horse Racing

The wait is finally over, jump racing is back at Chepstow! Get ready for an unmissable start to the 2025 National Hunt season with The Welsh Racing Festival – Day Three.

Here, I take a look through every race on Sunday 11th October, with a NAP in the Welsh Champion Hurdle – the feature race of the third and final day of the meeting.

1.32pm – 3m2f Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Chase (Class 4) (4yo+ 0-115)

Jockey bookings are all important in races of this nature, and my eye is taken to Ellis Collier (claiming 3lbs) being jocked up on TO BE SURE for Evan Williams.

Collier has a great record on the Welsh racecourses – especially when riding for namesake Christian, and this Sulamani-gelding is returning to the track after a break of 44 days. Hopefully he will be ready to do himself justice again on Sunday.

2.07pm – 2m3½f EBF Mares’ “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle

NORTHERN REEL was the emphatic winner of a mares chase at Leicester back in November 2024, and now switches back to hurdles for her latest trainer Keiran Burke.

The seven-year-old mare looks like a very interesting recruit for the yard and has plenty of experience under the bonnet. Her 7lb claiming jockey can be a valuable addition too.

2.42pm – 2m3½f Novices’ Chase (Listed)

DOYEN QUEST did very well for connections last season, albeit coming up a little short in the Martin Pipe at the Cheltenham Festival.

Chasing is the name of the game nowadays, and Dan Skelton is a more than capable trainer to bring this club horse forward.

3.17pm – 2m “Welsh Champion” Hurdle (A Limited Handicap) (Class 2) (5yo+)

Nigel and Willy Twiston-Davies may just have the solution to the tricky conundrum that is the Welsh Champion Hurdle on Sunday.

Six-year-old NORMAN FLETCHER (NAP) has made a flying start to his last two seasons, and I was particularly impressed with him when he completed a double at Aintree last December.

James Turner takes the ride and odds of 8/1 look generous enough to me.

3.52pm – 2m3½f Handicap Chase (GBB Race) (4yo+)

Towards the bottom of the handicap, my eye was instantly drawn towards Tom Lacey’s NOCTE VALATUS in this handicap chase.

The experienced ten-year-old regularly held his own in Class 2/3 chases last term, and looks positively thrown in here off just 10st 9lb, with a 5lb claimer on board. Trading around the 6/1 mark in our online betting market, he’s an each-way play.

4.27pm – 2m Seniors’ Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) (8yo+ 0-130)

“Eight” appears to be the optimum age for the horses to study in this specialist handicap, and MOVEIT LIKE MINNIE ticks plenty of boxes, including age.

Twiston-Davies’ charge is no stranger to the winner’s circle, having resided there on seven pervious occasions, and two miles is bang on his ideal trip. Tom Bellamy is the perfect jockey for this quirky customer too.

5.02pm – 2m National Hunt Flat Race (Class 2) (4-5yo)

Owners Burkes and Syders usually purchase some nice horses, and they must feel confident in sending him to Harry Derham to be trained.

That endorsement is good enough for me and a prominent showing is expected from LAKE TIBERIAS in the lucky last.
