As the National Hunt season gets into full swing, William Hill ambassador Emma Spencer has given her five horses to look out for…

Emma Spencer’s Five To Follow:

These are the five horses that I’m particularly looking forward to seeing this season and, having spoken to the great and good, I’ve put together the following.

Bright Forecast (Ben Pauling)

He’s obviously a novice chaser, he was third in the Ballymore and he is a horse that is undoubtedly going to improve for stepping up in trip.

Fusil Raffles (Nicky Henderson)

A four-year-old that won a Grade One at Punchestown on just his second start, this horse could be absolutely anything and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him lining up as a Champion Hurdle prospect.

Cyrname (Paul Nicholls)

He needs no introduction at all this horse, he’ll be taking on Altior at Ascot, going right handed is essential, I think, for him. He could also go to the King George and technically the handicapper has him a pound ahead of Altior, two very exciting horses but Cyrname is the horse that I’d be more interested in.

Santini (Nicky Henderson)

He was second in the RSA but he went into the race with an interrupted preparation. He hasn’t been seen since [has run once subsequently] but he’s a really strong stayer and I can see him being a live Gold Cup prospect.

Royal Illusion (Willie Mullins)

She couldn’t have been more impressive when she won the Irish Cesarewitch, she’s an improved horse on the Flat, she’ll be going hurdling in the Mares division and I think she’s going to be very tough to beat.

So five exciting horses and it all lies ahead of us…
