Superstar Enable could line up for the final time in the UK on Saturday (2:35 Kempton) and the odds suggest she’ll win without getting out of third gear.

The darling of Flat racing is 2/11 to streak to a second September Stakes win, but with William Hill offering a special on her winning distance (6/4 to win by over five lengths), we’ve looked into whether her starting price can be a good guide to judging how far she wins by…

In her 10 most recent victories, the six-year-old has started odds-on eight occasions and interestingly, for the most part, she wins by further the shorter her price is. A prime example being her five-and-a-half length demolition job in the King George at Ascot last time, where she went off a 4/9 shot.

Her current odds of 2/11 would signify the shortest price of her career and given she’s won her last race by five lengths (2017 Yorkshire Oaks) when that sort of price, there’s plenty of reason to expect we could see another virtuosos performance from one of the sport’s greats on Saturday.

It might be the last time we see her in the UK, but it’s got all the makings of being one we’ll remember for some time.
