Fairyhouse Tips Easter Monday: Best Bets On Irish Grand National Day
The Irish racing action heads to Fairyhouse this Easter Monday, bringing you an eight-race card headlined by the historic Irish Grand National at the famous County Meath racecourse.
2.05pm – 2m Handicap Hurdle
The Gavin Cromwell-trained SAVEFORARAINYDAY registered a clear-cut victory in the Conference & Banqueting Mares Maiden Hurdle in Limerick, when we last saw her race 55 days ago.
Owned by JP McManus, the Crystal Ocean-mare looks sure to be on the premises on what could be a red-letter day for the famous green and gold colours.
2.40pm – 2m Juvenile Hurdle (Grade 2)
MINELLA BOSS was a smart winner of the William Hill Each Way Extra Challenge Series Maiden Hurdle at Gowran Park last time and can step up to the plate once more here.
Oliver McKiernan’s four-year-old is now rated 122 over hurdles and can give the bigger stables a run for their money.
3.15pm – 2m5½f Handicap Hurdle
Charles Byrnes has managed to get SHABBY HILL to regain the winning thread this season, and another victory could well be on the cards on Monday afternoon.
The seven-year-old has won his last two races with conviction and this switch over to handicapping should be seamless and rewarding.
3.50pm – 2m4f Hurdle (Grade 2)
GLEN KILN (NAP) has held his own against all the big boys this season and deserves some further Graded honours.
David Harry Kelly’s seven-year-old has been on the up all season and won the Grade 3 Limestone Lad Hurdle in a gutsy, heartwarming, manner. He can reward punters today at nice odds in our horse racing betting markets.
4.20pm – 2m4 Fairyhouse Chase (Grade 2)
BLOOD DESTINY (NB) does all his winning on home soil and is somewhat of a solid stalwart in these types of races.
The seven-year-old was last seen winning the William Hill Racing Bet Builder Chase (Grade 3) at Naas, and you would like to think a repeat of that performances would be enough to also win this contest.
5.00pm – 3m5f Irish Grand National (Grade 3)
Trainer Gordon Elliott admitted that this race has been the plan all year for BETTER DAYS AHEAD.
Carrying top weight of 11st 12lbs, the most important thing for the eight-year-old is for the ground to stay on the soft side. He finished sixth in this contest last year and is in great condition. He should also be returned at a decent price in our sports betting markets.
5.40pm – 3m½f Handicap Chase
Paul Nolan indirectly enjoyed some success over in the UK this week, and he is sure to want to have a winner or two at home in the Easter Festival.
JOYAU DE THAIX is one of the few runners in this large field of 18 that is in form, and he was victorious 34 days ago at Leopardstown. He can put in a bold bid once more under Sean Flanagan.
6.10pm – 2m Pro/Am Flat Race
Amateur jockey Harry Swan is a very accomplished rider having enjoyed a nice win at Auteuil a couple of weeks ago, and he always gives his limited mounts the best ride he possibly can.
With his good association with Gordon Elliott, I can see CHARISMATIC KID being a leading player today.
