Inothewayurthinkin won’t run again this season
We took the decision not to enter Inothewayurthinkin at Punchestown and he won’t run again this season. He’s gone home to Martinstown.
He’s only a young horse and he’s already achieved plenty this season in winning the Gold Cup, so we’ll leave it at that for now and look forward to next year. Everything will be aimed towards the Cheltenham Gold Cup again next season, but all of the big staying chases he ran in this year will be on the cards again and we’ll so how he progresses.
Grand National runners may head to Punchestown
Off the back of the Grand National at Aintree, Perceval Legallois probably won’t run again this season. On the other hand, both Stumptown and Vanillier could go to Punchestown for the Cross Country.
They’ve both come out of the race okay and have taken it easy over the past week. Hopefully we can get them to Punchestown and they can both be competitive there.
Irish Grand National contenders
The ground is going to dictate the chances of a lot of our potential Irish Grand National runners on Easter Monday, 21st April. There is a little bit of rain forecast ahead of the race, but we’re unlikely to get enough for it to be soft ground. That will likely rule out the likes of Velvet Elvis and Bioluminescence.
Now Is The Hour is one who we’re hoping could be a big player. He’ll want a bit of ease in the ground though, so we’re keeping an open mind with him as he holds an entry at Sandown a couple of weeks later as well. Yeah Man is suited to the race and should hopefully be a player this year. Malina Girl ran really well at Cheltenham so hopefully she can bounce back from that with another big run here. Mint Boy is another who ran at Cheltenham and although he might be a bit exposed to the handicapper, we’re hoping he can keep improving to get ahead of his mark.
Down at the very bottom of the weights we have Noble Birth. He’s certainly not guaranteed to get a run but if he does then he could be a contender.
Sixandahalf to target both Fairyhouse and Chester
Sixandahalf holds an entry in both the Grade One Mares Novice Hurdle at Fairyhouse and the Chester Cup in May. She could potentially run in both as there’s a good gap in between the races. We certainly plan to run her at Fairyhouse, so we’d just have to see how she comes out of that.
