Gavin Cromwell’s William Hill blog: On a Path to glory?

We’ve probably got the strongest team we’ve ever had going over to Cheltenham which is amazing. We are going there with several horses who have decent chances and hopefully one can get their head in front.

Winners at Cheltenham are never easy given how competitive the racing is, but the horses are in great form and we’re going there hopeful of a bit of a luck.

Tuesday, Cheltenham

I’m hoping My Mate Mozzie can put up a good show in the Arkle (2.10pm). It looks like there is plenty of pace in the race which will suit him and while I would have preferred slightly better ground, he’s in really good form and his work at home has been spot on.

It’s a competitive Arkle and I’d like to think he has a good each-way chance.

Next up is Stumptown who has conditions that will really suit him in the Ultima (2.50pm). He won very well at Cheltenham last time and while he’s up in the weights and off a career high mark, we do think there is more to come. We know he goes well at the course and I expect a big run.

Wednesday, Cheltenham

Fameaftertheglory takes his chance in the Cross Country (4.10pm). It’s a very good race and he’s going to be up against it, but he did run a cracker here in November. Hopefully he can run well and pick up some prize money.

We run both Path D’oroux and The King Of Prs in the Grand Annual (4.50pm).

Path D’oroux wears first time cheekpieces and that should hopefully bring about a little bit of improvement. Not that he needs much as he seems to run good race after good race. Keith [Donoghue] won’t be having much breakfast as he’s doing 11 stone on him which is a massive bonus and I’m hopeful of a big run. He schooled in the cheekpieces and went really well, so if he can get into a good rhythm, I think he has a good chance.

The King Of Prs is probably up against it as this is a big step up in grade. He’s in good form at home and I’d be delighted if he can finish somewhere near the places.
