ITV Racing Tips: Best Bets From Newmarket, Ascot & Redcar On Stacked Saturday

There’s a bumper afternoon of equine action taking place on Saturday afternoon, with ITV Racing showing no less than TEN live televised races.

Our horse racing betting tipster Steven Mullington suggests a horse to follow in every single one of them:

1.00pm Newmarket – 7f Stakes (2yo)

Eve Johnson Houghton’s star two-year-old NIGHT IN VEGAS (NB) is chasing a massive sales-race hat-trick.

A large pot at Newmarket was followed up with yet another at Doncaster’s St Leger meeting, and on all known form, he can land this treasure trove too.

1.15pm Ascot – 7f Stakes (Listed)

Earlier this season, SO REGAL showed top-tier potential by leading from the outset in the Sky Bet Fillies’ Stakes here, winning by two lengths over the one mile trip.

This return to seven furlongs should work in her favour under Billy Loughnane.

1.35pm Newmarket – 1m Sun Chariot Stakes (Group 1)

While MOON TARGET faces a monumental task against the short-priced favourite here, she has to be one of the most solid each-way bets of the afternoon.

Two superb efforts in the month of August should put her bang on for another big push today, and at 14/1 in the latest market, she’s certainly on the punter’s side.

1.50pm Ascot – 5f Rous Stakes (Listed)

SHAGRAAN is stepping back into Listed company here over his optimum five furlong trip, which makes him an interesting bet at around 4/1 in our sports betting.

Second in the Group 3 World Trophy Stakes at fortnight ago, the five-year-old can go one step further.

2.10pm Newmarket – 1m4f Handicap

Harry Vigors caught my eye the other day at Haydock as a jockey who is worth every pound of his 5lb claim, which will come in really handy aboard ERNST BLOFELD on Saturday.

I cannot see the Wathnan runner finishing out of the frame.

2.25pm Ascot – 1m4f Cumberland Lodge Stakes (Group 3)

AL AASY arrives off a brilliant Group 2 victory in the Grand Prix de Deauville at the end of August, and although the ground is not ideal for him, his class can see him through.

3.00pm Ascot – 6f Bengough Stakes (Group 3)

ELMONJED is a self-confessed York specialist, but he will have his ground at Ascot too and can shoulder a penalty in this field.

This 114-rated five-year-old is sure to be in the vanguard in this Group 3.

3.20 Redcar – 6f William Hill Two Year Old Trophy (Listed)

I am very sweet on REVELS (NAP) in this William Hill-sponsored race, especially after his respectable fourth in the Group 2 Mill Reef Stakes at Newbury on 19 September. This form-line really does set him above his rivals in this two-year-old feature.

3.35 Ascot – 7f Challenge Cup Handicap

Ian Williams’ AALTO can make the most of his fly-weight at the bottom of the handicap before his rating goes up next week.

The six-year-old ran a nice race here in a large field handicap in July, and something similar here would reward each-way punters royally.

3.55 Redcar – 7f Guisborough Stakes (Listed)

Trained by Charles Hills for the Shadwell Estate, ELARAK can make the viewers happy in the final ITV race on Saturday afternoon.

Third in the Listed Dubai Duty Free Cup Stakes at Newbury on 18 Sept, this race isn’t quite as deep so plenty is expected.
