1.10 Kelso – 2m1f Handicap Chase
Raymond Anderson Green loves a winner or two at these prestigious Scottish jumps meetings, and his AEROS LUCK (NAP) looks primed to score.
Sandy Thomson’s charge was marginally touched off at Musselburgh last time and has the very able Charlie Maggs in the saddle.
1.25 Doncaster – 3m½f Mares’ Novices’ Hurdle (Listed Race)
She may not have beaten much at Fontwell seven weeks ago, but LIMERICK LASS is well worth her place in this Listed affair.
The Soldier Of Fortune-mare holds a great each-way chance in our respective sports betting market.
1.40 Kelso – 3m Premier Chase (Listed Race)
Veteran performer PROTEKTORAT should easily take the Kelso feature now that his main danger Iroko has defected from the race.
The former Ryanair winner is now an 11-y-o but is still a force to be reckoned with as his repeat victory in the Fleur de Lys Chase showed.
1.55 Doncaster – 2m½f Handicap Chase
Course and distance scorer BROOKIE can bounce back from a below par performance at Ascot off a decent mark of 148.
The winner of this race twelve months ago, Anthony Honeyball will have plotted this race for some weeks.
2.15 Kelso – 2m2f Premier Novices’ Hurdle (Grade 2)
Patrick Neville’s yard has sparked into life recently and Brian Hughes is just the man to bring THE LAST CLOUD home in front on Saturday.
Never placed out of the first four since February 2025, the six-year-old is a very strong each-way selection.
2.30 Doncaster – 3m2f Grimthorpe Handicap Chase
After some solid efforts, KELCE finally got his just rewards with a proper staying victory at Musselburgh a month ago.
The eight-year-old was once favourite for a previous renewal of the Lincolnshire National, so he will have no stamina issues here.
2.55 Kelso – 2m Morebattle Hurdle
HAMLET’S NIGHT is certainly fresh, having run on the Flat just ten days ago, and is a horse in pretty scintillating form.
Sean Bowen has been booked for the ride which is a tip in itself.
3.15 Newbury – 3m2f Veterans’ Handicap Chase
After a solid career which has brought about eight victories already, OUR POWER owes the Potter’s absolutely nothing, but he could well squeeze in win number nine in this Veterans’ event.
Last year’s Scottish National third still relishes these marathons and he can figure in the finish.
3.30 Kelso – 2m5f Handicap Hurdle
Trainer Peter Atkinson doesn’t train many horses, but the small group he does always tend to have an excellent strike rate.
I thought his FINGAL’S HILL ran a stormer behind Guard Duty at Doncaster, just succumbing to the difficult conditions on the track in the end, and today’s less tacky ground will be a timely boost to his chances.
3.45 Newbury – 2m4f Greatwood Gold Cup Handicap Chase
We’ve seen quite a few heroics from ISSAM already this season, namely his bold efforts at Wetherby and Kempton, and he really deserves to take a top scalp like this contest.
At around 7/1 in our horse racing betting, he’s certainly worth an each-way interest.
