William Hill ambassador Jane Mangan previews Day Four of Royal Ascot.

Royal Ascot, Friday

In the Albany (2.30pm), I like Fairy Godmother. She was my best bet of the meeting and I’m not going to go against her now. She was massively impressive at Naas, she’s an extremely well-developed filly by Night Of Thunder and of the Ballydoyle two-year olds, she is the one I’d most like to own.

This doesn’t look the best renewal of the Commonwealth Cup 3:05pm, and while Inisherin is a proper favourite, I think Elite Status has a serious chance for Karl Burke and Clifford Lee. On ratings, he has only 2lb to find and he has plenty of experience and the form of his seasonal debut this year is really strong. I think he’s possibly overlooked here, given that Inisherin was so impressive last time, so Elite Status is the one for me in what looks a substandard renewal.

The Coronation Stakes (3:45pm) is a brilliant race this year. You’ve got the Guineas winner in Elmalka, Opera Singer as a Group 1 winner from last season, Porta Fortuna brings top form to the race and also the French Guineas winner in Rouhiya. I believe that if Ramateulle is given a more conservative ride she will take a lot of beating, but I think the consistency of Porta Fortuna will be rewarded here. She won at Royal Ascot last year, was second in the Guineas and will really appreciate this quick ground. I think she has been completely overlooked here considering the consistency of her form from last year and at the start of this season.

The Sandringham Stakes (5.05pm) has attracted a maximum field of 30, and whilst she must shoulder the burden of top weight, I like the chances of Kitty Rose. She’s destined for a future career down under in Australia, she boasts top class form, she ran second on Irish Champions Weekend and on her one run this year at Leopardstown she went down fighting to A Lilac Rolla who finished second in the Irish 1000 Guineas. With Oisin Murphy aboard I think she will defy top weight in what looks a very deep renewal

The King Edward VII Stakes (5.40pm) is a race that Aidan O’Brien loves to farm with horses that aren’t quite Derby class, and I think this applies here with Chief Little Rock. He was impressive winning the Gallinule Stakes at the Curragh last time and will take a lot of beating here, despite it being a deep renewal with Voyage and Macduff fresh from their Epsom exploits. I think Chief Little Rock has more to come and I was very impressed with what I saw at the Curragh last time.
