Newmarket Horse Racing Tips – Cambridgeshire Day Predictions

Saturday 27 September 2025 is an unmissable day for fans and punters alike, with all eyes on Newmarket Racecourse for a bumper day of flat racing.
This highly anticipated day of the Cambridgeshire Meeting features the famous Cambridgeshire Heritage Handicap, which is the first leg of the historic Autumn Double. The second leg, The Cesarewitch (Heritage Handicap) will take place in two weeks’ time.
Here, I cast my eye over every race at HQ on Saturday, so scroll down to check out my best Newmarket bets this weekend.
1.50pm – 1m Royal Lodge Stakes (Group 2)
BOW ECHO (NAP) heads to the Group 2 Royal Lodge Stakes after a good win at Haydock last time out.
According to George Boughey, his work has been good since, and the one piece of work he did was on the Rowley Mile was as impressive as they’ve ever had from any two-year-old in the stable.
2.25pm – 6f Cheveley Park Stakes (Group 1)
The Aidan O’Brien-trained TRUE LOVE has done very little wrong this season and surely will be involved in the finish once more.
The daughter of No Nay Never has been brilliant on occasions this year, but was highly disappointing when turned over at horse racing betting odds of 1/4 last time out. She’s the type to bounce back however.
3.00pm – 6f Middle Park Stakes (Group 1)
Charlie Appleby’s WISE APPROACH emerged with plenty of credit on his first Group1 appearance when he finished a close third behind Venetian Sun and Gstaad in the Prix Morny at the end of August.
This race looks idea for him before a possible tilt at a Breeders’ Cup race.
3.40pm – 1m1f Cambridgeshire Handicap
Until recently, TRIBAL CHIEF had form figures that looked largely uninspiring, but the son of Sioux Nation bounced back with aplomb at Goodwood on August 24th.
His runout at Newcastle on Plate Day in June was entirely over the wrong trip, and the opportunity to run on proper soft ground at Newmarket racecourse this weekend will be right up his street. He looks to hold a great each-way chance.
4.15pm – 7f “Jersey Lily” Fillies’ Nursery Handicap
DICTAL can register her first victory in this fillies’ handicap at Newmarket on Saturday.
The Frankel-filly has had three nice races already, and goes into her first handicap off 8st 4lbs. Nicola Currie is decent booking too.
4.45pm – 7f Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (Div 1)
Charlie Appleby’s ACT OF KINDNESS was the third-highest-priced yearling sold at last year’s Tattersalls October Book 1 sale, going for 3.7million guineas by virtue of the fact that she is a half-sister to the Fillies’ Mile winner Ylang Ylang.
You would like to think she will boss this contest.
5.20pm – 7f Maiden Fillies’ Stakes (Div 2)
There are fillies galore at Newmarket this afternoon, and the fairly well educated ZABEEL FLOWER can make her experience count in this 7f affair.
Runner-up at both Lingfield and Chepstow, the Ardad-filly can take the spoils today.
5.55pm – 7f Handicap
The Jeff Smith-owned DANCE IN THE STORM has been very consistent this term, and she fared very well in a Fillies’ Heritage Handicap at York last time out.
Under Oisin Murphy, betting punters should get a good each-way run for their money.
