Nick Luck’s William Hill blog: Yesyes for Allayaali

There’s some good action at Doncaster on Thursday in front of the ITV cameras and as usual, our man Nick Luck has previewed the best of it for us.

Doncaster

I’m pretty keen on the chances of ALLAYAALI in the opening race (1.40pm) of ITV’s coverage at Doncaster on Thursday. She made a very taking debut over course and distance where she cruised into contention and was always doing enough in front. She travelled really well at Sandown next time too and although she was eventually a disappointing eighth, I’m prepared to forgive her that in this lesser contest. The Charlie Hills yard always seems to thrive during September and his runner looks an each-way steal at 10/1.

The claims of HARROW look pretty obvious in the 2-Y-O Stakes (2.10pm) and with good measure. His win last time in a competitive nursery at York came in a good time and there is surely plenty more to come in this. Conditions should be perfect again and with Andrew Balding still firing in winners for fun and Oisin Murphy riding out of his skin, he gets a confident vote at 9/2.

I really don’t see any reason to oppose INSPIRAL (2/5) in the May Hill (2.40pm). She’ll go off a mighty short price but that looks valid given the manner of her Sandown win last time. I, like the bookmakers, would be pretty surprised if she were turned over here.

The Dettori-Gosden combo could easily double up with Free Wind in the Park Hill (3.15pm), but I think YESYES is pretty interesting against her at 11/2. Ralph Beckett’s filly got the better of Dancing King, a talented horse in his own right, last time at Chester and that has proved strong form with Dancing King winning a Group 3 at Goodwood subsequently. Yesyes strikes me as one who has a bit more improvement to come, and it’s an added bonus that the stable has found a bit of form in recent weeks.

Henry Candy has had a below-par campaign, but the tide might be turning and that can continue with RUN TO FREEDOM in the closing seven-furlong handicap (3.45pm) at 7/1. He impressed me with the way he won at Newmarket last time where he had the measure of two progressive rivals in The Attorney and Aquaman. He’s been nudged up just two pounds for that and there is almost certainly more to come off a mark of 90.
