William Hill ambassador Nick Luck casts his expert eye over day three of Glorious Goodwood.

Bet on Horse Racing at William Hill

SERENITY BLUE is worth an each way interest in Goodwood’s Thursday opener (1.20). He’s made a promising start to his career all round, but the middle of his three starts is of particular interest. He bolted up in a good time that day, and the exploits of the runner up suggest the handicapper might have underestimated him. Interesting as long as the possible deluge doesn’t arrive in time.

HAVANA HURRICANE can continue his relentless progress in the Richmond (1.55). He’s looks ready to step back up to an easy six furlongs after rattling home in the Super Sprint and, although some intriguing new rivals enter the fray today, he arguably sets the standard. As so often with runners from this stable, he looks a big enough price.

SIR DINADAN looks playable in the Gordon (2.30). I’d be prepared to take his Irish Derby run at face value, particularly given how good his earlier second to stablemate Amiloc now looks. With a bit of pace on, he might prefer to take a lead today, but he won’t be too far back on a track that has suited front runners all week and there’s a chance he’ll get first run on Merchant. Rain would be a plus.

SEE THE FIRE is a solid play in the Nassau (3.05). She’s really not put a foot wrong since a superb run in last year’s edition, and might have gone even closer in the Prince of Wales’s had she not had a view of the front a little sooner than ideal. I’d worry if the storms came, but otherwise she boasts the strongest form, an uncomplicated profile, and can see off the three year olds.

RUBY’S PROFIT is a sensible call in the sprint (3.45). She’s rapid, and this track suits her really well, allowing her to use her early speed and good balance to build up a hefty advantage. Her run on a much less favourable track (Ascot) last time strongly suggested she was still moving forward, and she won’t mind too much if the ground gets a point slower.
