Nick Luck’s Racing League blog: Ana might find Gold at Windsor

It’s fair to say that finding winners in The Racing League isn’t straightforward, as the races are so competitive and the horses so tightly matched. But nobody said the game was supposed to be easy, and – like Matt Chapman being angrily pursued by Rupert Bell and Jamie Osborne – I’m not going down without a fight.

So here goes, as I venture once more into the choppy waters of the League with four well bevelled bullets.

EQUALITY (4.30pm) can get the ball rolling at 10/3 in the opener. He’s been a little frustrating in the round, but he’s better than these and gets a welcome class drop at the course where he looked really quite smart earlier in the season. The ground won’t be quite as lively today as it has been recently, and that will help.

ANA GOLD (6.00pm) looks ripe to run a big race at 7/1 tonight. She’s still fairly lightly raced, and has been inching her way forward with each start. She might have finished a little closer at Haydock last if more handily placed, and this slightly stiffer test and a strong pace ought to suit.

FARASI LANE (6.30pm) looks way too tempting at 10/1. He’s been subpar of late, but he seems to really excel at this track and the pick of his efforts make him look nicely handicapped. The yard seems to be hitting a bit of form, and he ought to go pretty close if he’s well.

TYPICAL WOMAN (7.00pm) is a bit ambitious insofar as she hasn’t conclusively proved she can cut it in this grade. That said, she ran very well in a competitive Sunday series event at Sandown, will benefit from a small increase in distance, and comes from a stable going very well. She should have a fair bit more to offer at 13/2.
