Nick Luck’s Blog: Executive Decisions made ahead of Racing League

| BY News Team

The next leg of the Racing League takes place at a soggy Chepstow this Thursday, and I’m pleased to see EXECUTIVE DECISION turning up again after her victory at Glorious Goodwood (6.30pm). A six-pound penalty only puts her exactly where the handicapper thinks she should be, but I’d have given her a sharper rise for last week given that she bolted up after a far from perfect trip. It wouldn’t surprise me to see her nick a bit of black type somewhere down the line, and she ought to be very competitive again, particularly on suitable ground. 4/1.

SHE’S HOT is another Goodwood refugee worth following in the 7.00pm. Representing a stable rolling into a bit of form, she ran pretty well the other day considering the distance was too short and she was first time back off a little break. That should have brought her forward and a step back to ten furlongs can do the rest. 15/2.

The following race (7.30pm) sees Cambridgeshire winner MAJESTIC negotiate much his easiest task of the year. He’s been dribbling down the weights while running perfectly respectably, and you can toss out his most recent run in the John Smith’s Cup, where he never stood any chance from the rear half of the field. 7/2 could be generous.

Finally KIMNGRACE (8.00pm) can strike at 15/2 in the sprint for Richard Hughes and the excellent Dylan Browne McMonagle. Again, this is quite a notable class drop following an excellent effort in a deeper race at Ascot – the last time she tackled a Class 3, she hosed up against a fair field at York, and she is another for whom cut in the ground is a big plus.
