Ripon Racecourse
Ripon hosts North Yorkshire’s richest race, the Great St Wilfrid Stakes, and has seen great success for David O’Meara and Richard Fahey. The track also enjoys a bumper August Bank Holiday meeting. It’s also known as the Garden Racecourse.
The track
Ripon’s oval circuit is 1m 3f long with a run-in of 5f, while it also has straight course for 6f races. Its cramped bends make for a sharp test suited to the more-nimble sorts.
