Sir Gino The Star Attraction At Newbury On William Hill Super Saturday

Sir Gino is the headline act in the entries for the Grade 2 William Hill Game Spirit Chase, with Nicky Henderson favouring this race over a trip to Warwick on the same day. William Hill are proud sponsors of Super Saturday at Newbury this weekend, with several lucrative races across the card.

Currently antepost favourite for the Arkle Novices Chase at the 2025 Cheltenham Festival, Sir Gino is priced at 4/6 in our horse racing odds to win the Game Spirit Chase on what would be his first start in open company.

Elsewhere on the card, we have the £155,000 William Hill Hurdle – with 23 confirmations at the five-day stage on Monday. The Nicky Henderson-trained Joyeuse tops the betting alongside Secret Squirrel at 5/1 and the Seven Barrows handler is looking for a seventh success in the lucrative race.

The William Hill Denman Chase attracted a nice field as well, with former King George VI Chase winner Bravemansgame opening up as the 6/4 favourite while Djelo and previous winner Eldorado Allen also feature among the entries.

We make him a 4/6 shot to make a successful jump into open company, before which the Arkle will almost certainly be his port of call at the Cheltenham Festival.

“In the day’s feature race, the William Hill Hurdle, we make Secret Squirrel and Joyeuse the joint-favourites at 5/1. It’s relatively early days in that market, but one we’re keeping a good eye on is Fiercely Proud, who’s already shown he’s got what it takes to win a race like this after his Ascot heroics before Christmas.”
