Angelista The Public’s Favourite Love Island Contestant, Study Finds
Social media sentiment analysis of this year’s Love Island cast has revealed Angelista as the UK public’s favourite islander, and with outright odds of 18/1, William Hill News reveal she may be the most undervalued contestant in the villa.
William Hill Vegas tracked positive and negative sentiment using social media listening tool Meltwater across the original cast before the boys were sent to Casa Amor and a new cohort of bombshells arrived for the girls in the Main Villa.
Angelista came out on top with 53.4% positive sentiment, the highest of any islander, while keeping her negative sentiment relatively low at 24.9%. With the Staffordshire nurse holding odds of 18/1 to win top female, she may be a dark horse for the series.
Meanwhile, the two islanders currently at the top of the betting, Ellie (7/4) and Fitzy (3/1), are likewise both generating strong positive sentiment, with 34.7% and 41.6% respectively, suggesting the public and the bookmakers are broadly aligned on their chances. Fitzy stands out: he carries the lowest negative sentiment of the entire group at just 17.6%, meaning he’s not only liked, but barely disliked at all and justifies his strength near the top of the top male market.
Jasmine (7/1) and Simba (22/1) are among the more divisive names in the villa. Jasmine’s negative sentiment (32.9%) outstrips her positive (30.2%), while Simba is the only islander where negative sentiment significantly outweighs positive, with 39.5% against 35.5%, making his 22/1 price look understandable.
Priya and Mica also carry notably high negative sentiment at 35.8% and 38.2% respectively, which could make their longer odds hard to overcome as the series progresses.

Spokesperson for William Hill Vegas, Lee Phelps, said: “We are about halfway through the 2026 series of Love Island, and we wanted to find out which islanders are generating the strongest reactions from viewers online, and whether what fans are saying on social media actually lines up with where the money is going.
“What jumps out immediately from our analysis is Angelista. She is the only islander to break the 50% positive sentiment mark, yet her 18/1 odds suggest punters still see her as an outsider. Meanwhile, Ellie (7/4) and Fitzy (3/1) have received floods of positive comments, which is accurately reflected in their positions at the top of their respective betting markets.
“On the other end of the scale, Simba and Mica will have some ground to make up with the public. Both are carrying more negative sentiment than positive right now, and with Casa Amor about to test every couple’s loyalty, that could be a tough position to recover from.”
