May 2 – 4 – Newmarket Guineas Festival
The Guineas Festival at Newmarket is an important fixture on the UK and Irish Flat racing calendar, as it plays host to the first two Classic races of the season, the 2000 Guineas and the 1000 Guineas.
The two Classics bring the best from the crop of three-year-old horses of that season for world-class Flat action, which provides clues for other major racing festivals down the line such as the Derby Festival at Epsom and Royal Ascot.

May 15 – 18 – PGA Championship
May also plays host to the second Major tournament of the golfing calendar, the PGA Championship.
The tournament returns to the esteemed Quail Hollow Golf Course for the first time since 2017, with 156 players teeing up to try and win Major glory.
The current favourite for the tournament is Masters and career Grand Slam-winner Rory McIlroy, who will no doubt still be riding the high of his career Grand Slam victory, after his long-awaited victory at Augusta in April.
He won’t have it all his own way though, as Scottie Scheffler will be desperate to the right the wrongs of Augusta and taste Major glory again. It promises to be a brilliant tournament.

May 17 – FA Cup Final
The conclusion of England’s most prestigious domestic cup competition comes in the form of the FA Cup final, as Crystal Palace face off against Manchester City.
City are aiming for a consecutive victory in the competition, whilst it is Palace’s first appearance in the final since 2016.
Both clubs have had differing journeys to the final, with City having a disappointing season and needing the FA Cup final to secure a piece of silverware in a rarely disappointing season for the side.
Palace, on the other hand, have been a revelation under manager Oliver Glasner and have overcome a difficult run to the final, taking scalps of the likes of Fulham and Aston Villa.

The only Monegasque driver in the field is Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who is looking to defend his crown from 2024.
McLaren could’ve hardly had a better start to the year, with Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri dominating proceedings.
