When is the 2025 British Grand Prix?
The 2025 British Grand Prix takes place at 3pm on Sunday, July 6.
Teams will be preparing at the track from earlier in the week, while the first two practice sessions are scheduled for Friday, July 4.
Where is the 2025 British Grand Prix?
The 2025 race will take place at Silverstone. Silverstone has exclusively hosted the event since 1987 after alternating with Brands Hatch between 1963 and 1986.
In February 2024, the FIA extended Silverstone’s contract until 2034. This makes the venue a fixture on the Formula One calendar until the middle of the next decade, cementing its place alongside Monza, Monaco, and Spa as a marquee track.
Weather Forecast For British Grand Prix
Rain and the British Grand Prix are synonymous. The 2025 edition is no exception. Current forecasts suggest showers are likely during FP3 and qualifying on Saturday with rain expected during Sunday’s race.
After scorching temperatures at the start of the week, it’s likely to be less than 20 degrees at the track on Saturday and Sunday. Could changeable weather lead to a surprise winner?
What is the track like?
Boasting a 3.661-mile circuit with plenty of high-speed corners, Silverstone is one of the favourite tracks for many F1 drivers. From Becketts and Stowe to Copse and Maggotts, cars need to be able to handle high-speed corners as well as have good pace on the straights.
There are more overtaking opportunities than at many other modern circuits. Drivers have chances to get past people without the use of DRS, though the two DRS sections remain invaluable.
