2028 US Election betting

The 2028 US presidential election is on the horizon, and the race to the White House is already heating up.
The past two elections of 2020 and 2024 were both hugely dramatic, the first of which saw Joe Biden narrowly defeat Donald Trump, and four years later we then witnessed a contentious victory by Trump in 2024 which you can read more about in a previous blog. Since then, the political landscape has shifted dramatically with Trump at the helm as he tries to manipulate the 22nd Amendment to secure a third term in office.
With both major parties in flux, the 2028 election is gearing up to be one of the most unpredictable yet. In this blog, we’ll explore the leading contenders who are shaping the future of American politics.

JD Vance 9/4
President Donald Trump Sr.’s right-hand man JD Vance is the current market leader to take over as the next US President. JD Vance’s rise as a favourite for the presidency is closely linked to his strong alignment and vice-presidency to Donald Trump. Having gained Trump’s endorsement for his US Senate bid in Ohio, Vance has solidified his position within the Republican Party, particularly among Trump’s base.
His outspoken support for Trump’s America First agenda, combined with his staunch conservative views on immigration, trade and national security, makes him a natural fit for the party’s right-wing faction. Vance will be seeking to represent a new generation of conservative leadership, appealing to both Trump loyalists and those seeking change within the Grand Old Party.
Donald Trump Sr. 9/2
The 22nd Amendment states that a President can’t serve more than two terms in office, but Donald Trump is doing everything in his power to change this Amendment to secure another term for himself in 2028. This would mean Trump would be going for back-to-back terms in the White House and a third overall should he stand to run in the 2028 US Election. Last year saw Trump pull off a decisive landslide victory against Kamala Harris, which many thought would have been a far closer contest, and he can’t be written off despite this relatively major catch.
His political brand of populism, strong conservative policies and ability to galvanise a significant voter base across key swing states remain powerful assets. Moreover, his political experience and established name recognition make him a strong candidate in 2028 should he go for it.
Josh Shapiro 10/1
Josh Shapiro could be a strong Democratic contender for the 2028 US presidency, leveraging his political experience as Pennsylvania’s governor – a position he’s held since 2023 – and his reputation for pragmatic leadership.
Shapiro’s focus on public health, education and economic recovery during crises has earned him praise across party lines. His moderate approach and ability to work with both Democrats and Republicans position him as a unifying figure. Shapiro’s appeal to swing voters, his youthful energy and his proven record in a pivotal state like Pennsylvania make him a compelling choice for a diverse electorate seeking stability and reform in the post-Trump era.
