Andy Burnham Now CLEAR Favourite In Next Prime Minister Odds After Keir Starmer RESIGNS

Following news that Sir Keir Starmer will resign from his position, William Hill News look at the next Prime Minister odds amid reports that Andy Burnham could replace him in Downing Street.

Speaking outside Downing Street on Monday morning, Mr Starmer said that becoming Prime Minister had been the “proudest moment of my life”.

Next Prime Minister Odds:

  • Andy Burnham – 1/50
  • Angela Rayner – 25/1
  • Wes Streeting – 25/1
  • Ed Miliband – 25/1
  • Alistair Carns – 25/1
  • Bar – 33/1

Media speculation has linked Andy Burnham with the top job for a while now and he is the red hot favourite in next Prime Minister odds to take over from Burnham – with William Hill pricing him at 1/50 to be the next leader after Starmer.

The Labour leadership contest is expected to get underway next month, with the winner becoming Prime Minister as the Labour party is currently the biggest political party in parliament.

Spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s resignation has paved the way for Andy Burnham to take his place on Downing Street, and we now expect Labour (6/4) to win more seats than Reform UK (7/4) at the next General Election as a result.

“Burnham is 1/50 to become next PM, with Angela Rayner, Wes Streeting, Ed Miliband and Alistair Carns all unlikely outsiders to challenge the former Mayor of Manchester at 25/1.

“Even with Starmer’s resignation, the most likely outcome at the next General Election is a hung parliament, priced at 4/7, with Labour and Reform both 4/1 to win a majority.”
